Hello all from Canada,

In doing my hobby of family search - I have discovered a family member who was the postmaster of the Cook Street Post Office in Barnoldswick, Yorks. Does anyone know of a photo of this building? Perhaps the old PO is a thing of the past as my Littlefair person is from the 1861-1891 period.

Many thanks, Gloria :-)

Looks like we don't have any pictures from Barnoldswick. So maybe someone who lives near can pop on by.

Welcome to POE thuogh.

Where abouts in Candada are you? I lived in Ontario for a while many moons ago.

Hi Sue,

Many thanks for such a quick response. My husband & I (plus an elderly dog, Maggie) live on the West Coast in Vancouver, B.C. My passion in life right now, besides the garden is the endless hobby of geneology - this led me to this site & all the wonderful photos and to the village of Barnoldswick. I have travelled through researching my various family members all over Lancashire, Derbyshire, Cornwall, Wales, London & now Yorkshire. It's great fun & very educational also. Nice to have a photo which ties in with a family.....cheers as today the sun is shining, Gloria :-)

Welcome Gloria. Too far from Barnoldswick to take a picture, sorry. I did put it in a my search engine looking for images and there seems to be quite a few of the town square - don't know if any show the post office. My sister has done family history research for over 20 years now - it is fascinating but a never ending job! Good luck with it.

Hi Gloria and welcome to POE from Anna and Ron. But hey, why not tell us a little bit about yourself in 'User Introduction' for a real new POE member welcome. Either way, enjoy your browsing of this great website and forum.

Hello Gloria, and welcome to POE. I am in the USA, Massachusetts to be exact. My sister and I drove to Nova Scotia a few years back to see The Royal Nova Scotia International Military Tattoo. It was very impressive. Laughing
