We travel next to BATTLE which is said to have been built on the site of the Battle of Hastings (1066 and all that, lol).  Here we can view Battle Abbey

And here we reach the historic town of HASTINGS with its Norman Castle (ruins), Conqueror's Stone, Fisherman's Museum, St Clements Caves, Victorian Pier, Hastings Country Park and Cliff Railway

Last stop on our whistle stop tour through SUSSEX is a RYE, with its cobbled streets, Castle Museum, Mermaid Inn & Old Windmill
