OK Home territory so I had better put up a few extra places to where Cathy has already been.

I will jump about a bit so don't get dizzy and will start at a very famous spot R.H.S Wisley Gardens, as well as being a beautiful place to visit a great deal of scientific research is carried out here.

Wisley highlight!

Just down the road from Wisley is Cobham with it's old mill that once a month is open and able to be seen working.

Thanks so much for adding your lovely pictures of Wisley Gardens.  As this is your home turf I am sure you will be able to add lots more, so I am really looking forward to seeing them.  Thanks again Vince.

Popping over to the other side of Surrey, Lingfield can be found. Here there is an all weather horse racing track, while it does not have the status of Epsom ,Ascot or Sandown to me there seems to be racing taking place on many occasions. I have come to Lingfield though to show you a very interesting place to visit, The British Wildlife Centre. With many birds and animals native to the UK in wild open eclosures you can see Otters, Owls (very apt given photos uploaded recently), Deer,Snakes, Foxes,Mice and many many more including Red Squirrels and Scottish Wild Cats.
Adder-nuff, I'm off.

Another animal place to visit is near to Fetcham and that is Bockets Farm Park and again another enjoyable animal experience day to be had.

Staying in Fetcham it is just a village with plenty of homes varying from the very modest to gated mansions. The local church, St. Mary's is special as not only did I get married there, it was where my wife and I first met, just a few feet from where we were married.

Still on the A25 but now between Dorking and Guildford at Shere, a village that claims to be one of the most attractive(mind you on a nice sunday afternoon the traffic situation is dire).

Just along the road from Shere is another tranquil spot with legends of it's history,Silent Pool.

Not far from this spot (Thornycroft) can be found the home of Sir Micheal Caine, not open to visitors!!!. I did meet him once in my surveying days when we had a survey job at his old home the Old Mill House at Windsor, an interesting job that one. He sold that home to the Led Zepplin drummer Jon Bonham.

Do watch out in Leatherhead though for some strange headless creatures

Did you see my head thataway

A quick dash now over to Walton- on -Thames for a couple of todays photos -Sunday 29th Aug
Walton Bridge

Above is Walton Bridge, not a very elegant one at that and subject to a lot of disruptive work. This is supposed to be the spot that Julius Ceaser first crossed the River Thames.

Thanks Vince and I'll be over at Guildford soon regarding the Wey and the family that owned a lot of it there and operated their barges along it; family tree stuff.

But, north of Guildford we come to the village of Effingham where Sir Barnes Wallis, inventor of the WW2 so-called bouncing bomb lived, and is buried in the local chuch there.

Old brooklands race track, Brooklands Museum, Weybridge -

And while we were at Brooklands Museum, we can wander around the back to see the remains of the race course that opened in 1907. Some years later one of the drivers who used to race here was John Waters; in later years he'd changed his name to Jack Warner and became more famous as TV's Dixon of Dock Green.
