Here is a link to the tour if you missed it http://www.picturesofengland.com/forum/Picture_Chat/4477/6 We ended the last tour at Cirencester in Gloucestershire from where we can easily gain access into Oxfordshire and travelling north on the A429 we will tour Chipping Norton. This is one of the Cotswold villages and had a working cloth mill until 1980, know as the Bliss Mill they made fine tweed cloth. It has now been converted into apartments To get lots more detail, information, pictures of Oxfordshire, towns, villages and attractions here is a quick link http://www.picturesofengland.com/England/Oxfordshire ![]() Picture by Karen Richardson Village buildings ![]() Picture by Poe ![]() Picture by Poe

These are thought to be a Bronze-Age Monolithic Circle dating from before 2000BC - and their importance is third only to Stonehenge and Avebury. ![]() Picture by Charles George ![]() Picture by Charles George |

This house built in 1607 was owned by the same family right up until 1991 when it passed to the National Trust. ![]() Picture by Frances Kerner ![]() Picture by Stephen Nunney |

Cogges Manor Farm Museum is close by, but closed during 2010 and onto Minster Lovell Hall & Dovecote (the ruins of a 15th Century Manor House, with ghostly stories being told about it). The White Horse carved into the chalk hills is believed to be the oldest of 16 similar carved horses throughout Britain and is maintained by the National Trust ![]() Picture by Jan Vanhentenrijck I couldn't find a pic with the whole horse clearly visible unfortunately. |
