The originals are pin sharp, but those i uploaded have gone soft. What am i doing wrong? |

Resizing (e.g. to 800px) can make it look soft too, so always apply some sharpening after resizing. Hope this helps. |

Hi Dennis Try using "save as for web and devices" in CS5, make sure you use S/RGB colour space and use bicubic sharper when resizing down. That should do the trick. cheers Stuart |
Posts: Joined: 1st Jan 1970 | There is a very simple answer to this. I have photos on a few web sites and the display quality varies a lot. POE does not seem to give the sharpness of other sites and clearly gives less contrast. I know nothing about servers so no idea if its due to bandwidth or what. Perhaps the "management" may explain it all. Mr B ? |

Then Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen. Then repeat Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen. If 2nd round of Sharpening has been a bit too much already, go to Edit>Fade Sharpen and reduce the Opacity to something more suitable. Back to Image>Image Size to re-size to say 900/800 pixels (or whatever) for the web. If it might need a touch more, then Filter> Smart Sharpen and More Accurate box ticked and Pixels set to .2 or .3 and Amount to around 50%---or whatever less to avoid over-sharpening/halos appearing. You should have a sharp looking web image by now. Edited by: Paul Hilton at:4th July 2011 07:57 |

Bit concerned that we may have a virus of some sort, can you see them from your end, that's all I really want to know, because if not, i'll try it again- or run another virus scan Sorry it's such a lengthy question, but a bit worried incase we have a big problem. Thankyou |
