I am 29 years old, I am a dentist, I'm married, I live in Romania but I'll move to England this year. I find this site great. England is a beautiful country and I belive English people are the same. I am very dissapointed about Romania and I hope England will be my new home. My English is not so good, so please excuse me. |

As for the private sector, it seems you can pay nearly £700 for a crown, £500 if you have the original (say it broke off and you were able to save it). So think of a number, double it and you can charge it.....get the picture (of England) .con? Sorry, that should have been an 'm' of course .com - couldn't resist that! And then there's the Dental Insurance scam. Frankly not worth the paper they are written on because the Insurance companies have got it worked out so that whatever the cost of dental treatment, you will never get an appropriate amount refunded to cover the work undertaken. They will only ever pay out say 75% or 80% of a claim. When you add it all up its not worth the hassle because once they've got your money, some Insurance Company's squirm at paying out anything, anytime, and use the slightest excuse to say; Ah sorry, thats not covered! Welcome to England!! |

My earnings here in Romania as a starting dentist are about 2500 RON/ month = 500 pounds/month. In my practice, a ceramic crown is 250 RON = 50 pounds. My main reason for leaving Romania is that I am completely sick of it. I want to live in a place where people respect each other, where the law exists and rules, in a place without carts, wandering dogs, rubbish everywhere, mud everywhere, gipsies, rude people... Pictures of England shown me an extraordinary country. |

Basically, I think we are being 'ripped off' and/or 'taken for a ride' by those who manage to secure huge prices for what appears to be minimal effort. £125 per week as wages for a professional dentist. Half a weeks wages to get a crown! Wow, no wonder you are looking forward to coming to England....you'll make a fortune. Remember you heard it here first... on www.picturesofengland.com It would be interesting to hear how you get on, so keep us all updated via poe.
