Posts: Joined: 1st Jan 1970 | Hello everyone, my name is Karen, and I live on the Mornington Peninsula not far from Melbourne in Australia. I originally come from Kent and have been living in Australia since I was a teenager. I am married with a son, and am a british girl through and through! My body may be in oz but my mind and heart is definately still in England!! So much so that I have never really felt settled in another country-I wonder if any other ex-pats have the same feeling? Anyway, my husband, son and I had a wonderful trip back to the U.K 6 months ago; we toured around the Lake District, Yorkshire, Edinburgh in Scotland and spent lots of time visiting family and friends in Kent, where we based ourselves. Since getting back to Australia, our 5 year old son keeps telling us that he wants to go back to England!! He may have been born here but he definately has English blood in him in more ways than one! |

I hope you find us all friendly and enjoyable, understanding that we tease allot when we get to know each other. As for the pictures, you can live in England every day through them. I moved to the USA 16 years ago, and not a day (probably not an hour) goes by when I am not thinking about England in some way. And now I have this site, it's pictures and it's people. I can almost bare being away, almost but not quite. Enjoy! |

As time goes by you will realise that the members ALL try to beat me to the welcome for a new member in the forum, and on this occasion I have failed miserably. The reality is you are another I suppose that will be 'trying to get in first', but you will have to get up in the morning!! Seriously, it's fun, friendly (most times) certainly a family friendly site, the best on the net. We only really have one pitfall....his name is Peter! |
