I grew up in various places around Atlanta (Woodstock, Smyrna, Marrietta, Emerson etc...we moved a lot. LOL!) and still have family living there. Can't say I miss it much, LOL, but it's always nice to meet someone from the same neck of the woods. Welcome! |

I'm trying to access digital photos as my last computer crashed and took photos with it. I think I have some photo discs somewhere & I'll post an avatar when I find them. Thanks for all the good words. Diana, I'm new in Vinings and like the area. When were you last in ATL? |

Backed up nearly all of my data and photo's on it. Notice I said "nearly all". I got a bit careless about backining up and lost some. USB external hard drives are quite cheap, so, all my data is now on 2 hard drives and memory sticks, and cds. Sounds like overkill, but better than losing them all. I also fitted a second hard drive in the computer with Windows, so if my main drive takes a nose dive, I have a second ready to go. |

I have now purchased two memory sticks and a packet of CDs to back up all future docs/pics/etc. In the meantime, I've taken my computer to a place where I hope they can retrieve my "life." |

The last time I set foot in Atlanta was approximately 23 years ago! My family and I are not close, sad to say. But I have met up with them at various other locations over the years. Either they come to visit me or we would meet up at our grandparents' house in Jacksonville, Florida. |

Like you I've also long dealt with familial estrangement. It is sad but sometimes part of life. Fortunately I'm still close to a some family members and have great friends. |

Hi John, I don't think I've said hello to you yet. I haven't been to Savannah yet but I would love to go someday. Every time I think of it I think of the movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" (a great movie by the way), and Paula Deen! LOL! |
