Hello all, I'm Jim. I'm 51, from Palo Alto, CA. Presently, I'm a product design student at San Francisco State University. After spending many years working in Silicon Valley, I returned to school to get that bachelors degree that I didn't get back in the day. Graduation planned for Spring, 2009.

I was raised by an English Grandmother, born in Watford, Hertfordshire in 1898, so my appreciation of all things British began early in life. One of my travel goals is to visit Watford, and investigate family history. Any family history sleuthing tips fellow POEers may have would be greatly appreciated! I have been to the UK twice, Scotland in 1997 for work, and a pub New Years in London in 2002/03. Can't wait to get over there again!

I can't remember how I came upon this site, but sure glad I did. Cheers!!

Hello Jim and welcome to POE. It's a great website and forum and I just know you will get a fantastic welcome from the rest of the family members. I'm not too far away from Watford here in Oxford, but you will be able to check out Watford via Pictures Of England.com. Enjoy it and join in when you can!

Hi Jim! Welcome to POE from me too. I've been through Palo Alto back in the late 1980's. Was on a trip to San Jose and while boyfriend was in class I traveled by bus and rail car to see all the sites! Even got to San Francisco for a day. Nice area!

Welcome Jim! I lived in Glendale, CA and worked in L.A. for many years.  Can't say I miss it much. LOL! Moved to Boston 14 years ago and never looked back. Smile

Enjoy the site, Jim. There are a lot of great people here.
