I found this wonderful website whilst looking for pictures of Woodley, which is where I live, in the Royal County of Berkshire. I used to be very keen on photography but it is an interest that has waned over the years as other interests have taken priority. I work full time as a firefighter but am due to retire in 11 months time when I reach 50 and hope then to find the time to rekindle my interest. I also work part time as a flying instructor so I should be able to add to the aerial pictures too! I currently use a Canon EOS1D with a selection of nice lenses but if I do start to get more interested again I would like to replace that with a 1D MkIII. I wouldn't consider myself to be a very artistic photographer but I have found that if I take enough pictures with a decent camera then one or two do come out quite well! :) I have already discovered that this is a website which can easily distract me for hours looking through all the superb pictures on here so I am sure that I shall be popping in on a regular basis! :) Anyway that's enough from me. You have already submitted some great shots which I just know will attract positive comments from our family of friends here. Clearly from your introduction you are hooked on POE already! As one previous member Peter used to say, you can sit in front of the PC long enough to get a square backside!! BTW Peter, it would be nice to see you back and I know the members miss you. Hoping you are well Peter. Anyway Mark, please join in whenever you can here in the forum, but above all enjoy this wonderful website. |

Maybe next year.Look forward to seeing your photos, and I've only seen Berkshire from the air on my flight sim with photo-scenery! |

I know Woodly, not well, but I've been through there having grown up in Oxfordshire and when I come home, my friends take me around to the lovely little villages I miss so much, I am looking forward to looking at your pictures, and I know once you have got back into taking more, we are going to be very blessed here at POE (Pictures of England). I just turned 50 too, btw. Looking forward to hearing from you here in the forums. |
