My name is Lorin E. Crosby III and I live in Alpena, Michigan - on the other side of the so called POND!!  Ha ha! I recently turned 50 yes fifty years old and to think that some trees don't even live that long.  My family came from Spalding-on-Moor in Lincolnshire County back in 1635. My Aunt had done some extensive research and came to the conclusion that the then Crossby's were suposed to be guardians of the cross to the English Kings for generations but there is no proof as to this statement by her. She had at one time stated that she had traced some of the lineage back to the year of 1280, however we (family remaining) have never found any of this information. We often wonder if contacting The Church of England might prove fruitful in that arena.  I have been in love with England, her long history and the romanticism associated with it for many years. I am fascinated with the period of the Battles of the Crusades from 1097 to 1444, and interested in the long line of the monarchy. I shall end for now and look forward to responses from all. Have a fantastic day!!

It is a bit on the chilly side here today. I am originally from the Texas Gulf Coast and after 20 years of being in Michigan I have not, as of yet, adjusted to the weather differences. Especially when in the winter it can snow as high as a camels rear. YUCK!!  Still a little cool to be working in my flower beds!

Hi Lorin, I am very new to POE myself (a week now) so welcome. Everyone has been really nice and friendly. I'm from across an even 'smaller pond' way across the Atlantic in South Africa. See you again soon on one of the threads.
