Hello,

My name is Ian Flaws and I’m from the biggest city in both size and population between Leeds and Edinburgh.  No you’re wrong, it’s Sunderland.

I’m 61 years of age and I’ve been retired for the past 12 years.  I chair the ‘friends group’ at Herrington Country Park and help out there on a very regular basis.

I have enjoyed taking photographs(point and shoot) for a few years, and with my adequate knowledge of photoshop I was able to get some decent results.  I  recently acquired a  Nikon D40x and a couple of lenses, which, can I say, has opened up a whole new world for me.  I have noticed that there are a couple of members who submit photo’s from the Penshaw area.  If they wish to make themselves known at the visitors centre of Herrington Country Park maybe we can assist them.

PS – Penshaw village in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, is named as a town, it has a large monument.  How can I add it as an ‘attraction’?

Welcome to POE from Anna and Ron Ian, and yes you have submitted some interesting photographs already. I haven't looked but if there is not an attraction then it is something that Chris and Sarah, owners of POE have to do. What makes Penshaw and/or the Monument an 'attraction'? Either way continue to submit your pictures and we will deal with it for you if/as appropriate.

Hello Anna and Ron,

Thank you for your welcome. I have submitted a history of 'Penshaw', Tyne and Wear, which is 95% about the monument.  I am sure that Chris and Sarah will pick up on the monument as an attraction as there are quite a few Images of it.   If you looked at my photo's you will have seen it on most of them.
