Thanks Jason, Krissy and Ruth ...... I'm sure I will learn to find my way round POE. I have posted some photos from Cornwall and Somerset from an earlier trip over to the UK.

Hi Kahu and welcome to POE. Interesting facts about your country. My friend's sister and her husband emigrated to NZ some years ago and they have been very happy. It always looks such a beautiful place.

Tena koe Stephanie ..... Whereabouts are the rest of your family/whanau? When I was in the SW of England (Cornwall, Somerset, Devon, Dorset) ..... if I shut my eyes and just looked at the plants I could swear that I was back home, the plants are the same ..... you've even got Cabbage Trees (Tii rakau) growing on the Isle of Dogs beside the Thames .... and the biggest totara outside Aotearoa, big enough to make a maori war canoe, in the gardens at Heligan near Megavissey! Scotland, too, is very much like the deep south of the South Island.

Hello Kahu, I come from the Black Country which is in the West Midlands and my mother & sister live in Bewdley in Worcestershire. I love Cornwall - go there on holiday every year. I have rarely been to the Thames area though but I love Scotland too. My favourite area is Wales.

Closest I got to Wales was a hospital in Weston-Super-Mare ... watching the All Blacks play in Wales would be the ultimate. Maybe one day.
