I came across this site unexpectedly but I am so happy I did. I spent 3 years in Suffolk back in the early 70's when I was in the U.S. Air Force. It was the best time of my life. I fell in love with the beer, the people, and the country. I came back to the states with some great memories and a new Norton 850 Commando. Keep posting the pictures. William |

A lot of Americans were, and I think still are stationed at Mildenhall. Good you found this web site, I am sure you will find a lot to jog the memory of your stay |

I was in fact stationed at RAF Mildenhall. I lived in the village in a small flat in the churchyard. I could walk across the street to the Bell Hotel and drink Norwich Bitter, or Bells Scotch. One of the local PC's used to stop by my house on his beat and have a drink. It was a great time.
