Hi from Colleen

Hello to everyone. I am a Canadian I have lived in the UK for two years, I have travelled back and forth for years and always loved it so thought time to get on with it and try living here. My father was English. I have lived in Essex, Cornwall, and now Gloucestershire. I have a people carrier as they call them here and travelled throughout the UK from one end to the other went as far as Plockton in Scotland last time and stayed at Duncraig Castle. A lot of time I will sleep in the back of my people carrier and camp lovely to wake up in the morning close to some farmers field and here the baaing of sheep while I make my tea. My father was a poet and have always loved poetry I got to know Harry Wheeler through the Mary Queen of Scots web site and would always request his poetry. That is how I got to know about this site. I am not a poet. Also my New Year resolution is to learn how to download some pictures so I am a real amateur but this site will give me the incentive to learn this.

Hi Colleen and welcome.  I think it's great that you followed your dream and went over to England to live.  I'd love to do that maybe someday, not to live there permanently, but maybe for a year or two.  As you already know, we all really love Harry's poetry.  I'm glad you joined.  We had the good fortune of being able to visit Castle Bolton where Mary Queen of Scots was held prisoner for a time.
