Keep checking in here for good info and wonderful pictures while you're planning your trip, although it sounds like you already have a great intinerary. The first time we went to England, we ended up in North Yorkshire, largely because of this site. We've been twice now and we also stop in to Ireland whilst we're in the neighborhood. lol Have fun anticipating your trip and enjoy yourself here. |

I need a bit of help with planning my Ireland itinerary. So much to choose from so little time. Could someone advise me of the highlights and whether I should choose a few base towns to stay over night in various areas. We will be there in July for 7 days. 4 people traveling together. We will be starting and leaving from Dublin. |

My advice would be to zero in on an area and not try to see too much. If you pick a county for whatever type attactions you're interested in, it might be best to book a B&B for a couple or 3 nights at a time as sort of a base camp. That would be the way to do it if some of the places you want to see are far from Dublin, like in the west or south of Ireland. We were just there in August and stayed for a few days in County Meath right outside Dublin and visited Newgrange, Kells and Trim. They were all great! There is also a nice beach at Bettystown. |
