I'm from Togliatti, it's a small russian town (famous by AvtoVAZ and LADA) not far from Moscow (just about 1 000 km)! I'm fond of foreign languages (English, French, Italian now I'm learning German). I love my family and I take pleasure in teaching English in my small private home school! Why am I here? Just because I see you are very nice people! And you look like a real family! (Thank's of POE guys) I'm going to visit England this autumn. It'll be my first visit. But I don't know what place should i see first? I need smth to impress me the most. So what should I begin with? Promise nice pics in POE's collection!

It looks like very picturesque, vivid and clean. Not too much overcrowded as London, for ex. It's so green in summer! And its architecture is so admirable! Have you ever been there? What i really need in my first visit is to know how the English live, i mean what they like, or dislike, how they spend their free time, what are the "special" things that they have in their lives, in their kitchen, in their culture, you know... Because as I teach this language i need to know the country and traditions. So that is why i ask you about this beautiful and in some way magic country, especially for the Russians.

From the home page, look at the left panel and you can surf by categories that interest you - counties, picture tours, towns, etc. For a little country, there's more wonderful places in England than you can imagine. Good luck, and also good luck with all your language studies.

I live near to Birmingham although I don't go very often these days as I am a bit scared of visiting cities. I live near Dudley. The Midlands is a lovely place to visit - there are so many places to visit from here as we are in the middle of the country. The counties of Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Shropshire, Oxfordshire are within easy reach as is Wales. Birmingham itself is a very underrated city and it is nice that you have a good impression of it. England these days is such a diverse multicultural country that it is difficult to say how people live here really and people can vary so much from place to place. People around my area tend to be helpful and friendly. |
