G'Day from Mooroopna, Victoria, Australia

Hi there... ever so pleased to locate this site. After 20 yrs I have returned to my hundreds of pictures of the U.K. taken when I lived Newport, nr Saffron Walden, Essex... (during 1990) and, gratefully, Royston Alcoholics Anonymous rooms became my "Home Group".  There are head-stones of some of my ancestors (paternal/maternal), Hayes/Ward/Searcy at Medbourne, Leistershire UK,  I need some assistance, from time to time, to exactly "locate" some of my pics as I failed, miserably, to write notes with them. I'm not an "Ozzie" soul as such as I was born and raised, in Oz, to understand I was "British" and "an Orangeman".. which is rather astonishing as both my father and his father were born in Australia.  As far as I am aware.. ALL, (except for Sarah, my maternal g/grand-mother) my great-grandparents were born in Oz  However.. "we" were all born and designated "British Citizens" until at least the 60s.

So.. "my dream of the British Isles began with my birth and persisted with a John Constable print of "The Haywain".. purchased with my first pay at age 16".  My life was literally, saved, when I finally arrived here in 1990, unaware of the severity of my propensity for alcohol for medicinal purposes, but, very aware of the misery my mind endured.. having never "felt at home" in Australia.

Apart from my laptop and the internet..  the U.K. is "the love of my life"!  Grateful Cheers from Lois.
