Dee: I've never been to England, but descriptions herein remind me of parts of New England, particularly areas of Vermont.  Perhaps your family can vacation there for a "reasonable facsimile" of England, until such time as you can go back?

Hi there, we used to live in NJ, so back then, we often travelled up to Vermont. I loved it. Very green, quite mountaineous, not quaint though, but vast areas of greenery and forest. vacationing to the East cost, almost as pricey as getting tickets to England!!! I remember a lovely pancake house (restaurant) on a winding road surrounded by mountains. Looked quite Swiss with it triangular shape.

I am from Punjab. Never been there, because I did not want to visit a hot place with slimy/slithering creatures! So I end up in Arizona!!! My family back home in the UK say India is  lovely, and my sister loves visiting when she can.  My mum and dad have just spent the last 2 months in India and are coming back to the UK on Thursday. They said they had a nice time, but it was getting too hot, my dad got heat exhaustion, a daily occurance it stifling AZ!  I'd rather visit my birth country, UK,  that's where my longing is, but perhaps one day when the kids are older, we'll visit India, until then I am just so enjoying POE...
