Born and bred in Warburton, just outside Lymm, got married and moved away, kids grew up and left home and so did I ! And moved back to Lymm 6 years ago... Did a little photography 20 odd years ago, the good old dark room days, but for some reason which escapes me I gave it up, probably a shortage of funds, but now I'm back and Digital, how good is digital ? Bought an Olympus E510, which suited me for a couple of years, but now got a Canon EOS50D, several lenses, etc etc etc... and being a bit of a computer wizz, thanks to my son, The two go together quite well... So why am I on this forum? Couple of weeks ago went for a walk around Dunham park, few miles from home, and when I got home I Googled "Dunham pictures" which directed me to POE, liked what I saw and even had a look at other places, as my partner and I go for weekends away, as long as she gets a few hours around the shops & a meal out,I get to go looking at the beauty spots and take loads of photo's, so the site has given me a few ideas for places to go... Will upload a few pictures of my home town, Lymm, in a few days Thanks for having me and will be back soon, Normski Edited by: Ron Brind at:21st May 2011 21:21 |

You sound like a fella who is prime for our little community. I'm really looking forward to seeing your pictures of England.. Be sure and join us often, here on the forums. We're a nutty bunch, but harmless. |

Have recently been made redundant, and at 58 years old I am finding it hard to find a job and easy to go out with my camera... Again Thanks Normski |

Just hope Chris and Sarah get the backing they deserve to keep it going!!! Exactly same story to you, found the site while Googling Ambleside and ain't looked back since. Our profiles read a very similar story too except I went from Olympus E410 to Canon EOS500d. Nothing wrong with the E410 it is a top notch camera in fact DP Reviews gave it 'highly recommended' rating it gave me good grounding with digital but i was just itching to get back to Canon. Anyway lets hope we all get chance for more chats and exchanging of images |

It's really wonderful to read your posting, and yours too, Dave about stumbling upon POE thru Google. I was lucky enough to have that happen 4 years ago and I've loved every minute I've spent here, both in this forum and taking a vicarious tour of the fabulous British Isles through this lovely site. So I hope you keep coming around, the more the merrier. Looking forward to seeing your pix.
