West Wycombe House The south colonnade of West Wycombe House. The present house was built in the Italian style under the direction of Sir Francis Dashwood (The 2nd Baronet, b 1708, d 1781) and is a superb example of Georgian architecture. St Lawrence's Church, West Wycombe The tower of St Lawrence's Church. The golden ball is said to be capable of holding about half-a-dozen people. St Lawrence's Church, West Wycombe The church on West Wycombe Hill is famous for the golden ball at the top of the tower. The ball was reputed to have been used for meetings of the Medmenham Club. The church was extensively redesigned under the directions of Sir Francis Dashwood (the second Baronet) in 1760.
