Well, I do have to join in this thread.  I have another English website that I visit quite often (yes, there are others!), called Lambwatch, where as well as keeping an eye on the sheep up there in the Yorkshire/Lancashire area, I can also watch the weather.  For example, it's 13 C today, and it looks sunny.  That translates to about 55 F, which would be autumn like weather here!  Amazing, especially since I love cool weather, can't wait until fall.

The midwestern US has generally extreme weather, except for a few weeks in spring and fall.  We're actually having a cool front pass through this week, it's only in the 80'sF, but still very humid.  No rain, tho.  We don't get alot of rain in July or August.  Our normal temps this time of year are closer to 93-98 F (33-36 C), with heat warnings usually in effect.  Hate it.  Then in January and Febuary, we have ice storms (not so much snow) but weeks of 20 degrees with occasional forays down to 0.

I also happen to love rain, but we usually only get that in the spring, which is associated with tornadoes...

I'm ready to move to England!! anyone have a job for me??

I'm the same way too Nora! I love cooler weather! I'm in New Jersey and we get the same drastic weather!!  Except for tornados!! I would much prefer Englands weather...even all the rain!

Hi Nora, Yorks and Lancs are two great places. Not that far from me, I'm often paying somewhere in the regions a visit!

Anyhow, I was in bed this morning and it suddenly started to rain. Then there was like a freak wind, my curtains were almost sucked out my open window! The sky went very dark, it lashed down and then thundered and a streak of lightening lit my window up! Then, as soon as it came, it went again! Surprised It was as if a tornado had gone passed my house! Surprised Quite freaky!

I was supposed to be camping this weekend, but just like the other weekends where I was supposed to, I doubt it is suitable weather! Undecided

Sun shining here in Wheatley Sue (temperature falling Debbie), bet you wish you were here under the wonderful blue skies, cool temperature and rain when required for the gardens!! But hey, what about the long range weather forecast for us here, got that wrong didn't they? It was only a couple of weeks ago that they said August would see a heatwave, now they say exactly the opposite!

It's been so humid here in New England. Right now it's in the 90s and raining so hard that if it were winter it would be a snow storm!

I am one of those people who HATES the heat and humidity, but cannot escape it here in the east coast.  I lived in Florida for 2 duty assignments and could not wait to leave, hated the oppresive heat.  One of the positives about my divorce was that my exhusband (Bless him) was adament about retiring in Jacksonville, Florida..which he did.  There was many reasons I loved living in England, and the weather was one of them, love rainy days.  Partly Cloudy
