While seaside resorts over here are often seen as slightly kiss-me-quick and a little cheap there are still some really great ones to be found. My favourites are Newquay and Brighton, with their vibrance and youth about them. If you're from outside the UK feel free to mention the best seaside resorts in your countries too. |

However I had a great weekend at Torquay a few years ago and Paignton is also an enjoyable resort I visit by steam train when in South Devon on the wonderful Dartmouth-Paignton railway! Also from the West Midlands where I live Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-On-Sea make a great day trip! |

If you haven't been to Paignton lately Stephanie, you may be disappointed if you visit again - it looks a little worse for wear now! |

Mine too, Karen. Not that I've been to very many, LOL! I have some Whitby pics among my shots, Nick. Of course, it was November when we were there and very cold and windy, but I could imagine it being quite lovely in Summer. Achill Island in County Mayo, Ireland is another place that looks like it might be great in summer. In the US, I'd say, Carlsbad and Carpenteria in California, South Padre Island, Texas (on the Gulf of Mexico), Harwich Port, Massachusetts (Cape Cod) and Island Beach State Park, New Jersey. |
