Mind you, a woman marries you for what you are, then spends the rerst of her life trying to change you into what she thinks you should be. " I CANT CHANGE". Sorry for shouting. |

And in reality we fell in love with our men just because of who they are....I'm sure you are just a fine gentleman. My dear hubby is actually the same man I fell in live with~but time changes and we as women somehow expect our hubbys to become more loving, and attentive than before. BTW~Thanks for clarifying the "C" word for me. Ron...We have many rival schools over here as well~Princeton and Yale is one I know well because of the proximity to where I live and having a daughter who went to university very near Yale. It is friendly banter for the most part at the university level. However some of our professional teams have serious and sometimes nasty rivalries...like the NY Yankees and Boston Red Sox. My family lives in Cambridgshire but not in "C" ;) We live in a small village outside of Peterborough called Whittlesey. Not sure if anyone knows it but it is a beautiful little town. And my family actually has a bit of a claim to fame. Sir Harry Smith was the brother of my great great Grandfather. There are schools named after him and a monument or two, it's a fun and interesting link to the past. Ruth...Cape May is one of my favorite places on earth. We have spent many a summer holiday there. When our children were little we always stayed in Wildwood Crest for the rides and boardwalk. But we switched over to Cape May several years ago, as I adored our day trips there. The B&B's are just just wonderful. And there is a bounty of antique shops to find treasures in! Steve...Good luck on your move! I am envious of you; how very exciting. It is my dream to live there eventually or even just spend longer holidays with family each year. I get both of those magazines as well; also get some sent over from one of my cousins in England as they are much less expensive that way. Sorry for the long post! But I get so passionate about anything even remorely related to England. So finding this site...and all of you; is a treasure for me!! |

As Sue H said, there is a rivalry between Oxford and Cambridge that has gone on for years. Something to do with them both being university cities. Every year they have the Oxford, Cambridge boat race on the river Thames. It has become a national instituion and a heck of a lot of money is gambled on the outcome. |
