Regarding the re-test every 10 years idea---with 38 million drivers in the UK, that would mean an average of over 73,000 driving tests per week in addition to ones for new drivers. And any one with an occupational entitlement, i.e. truck/bus drivers, failing your car test on one of these ten year tests would thus mean loosing your job forthwith as well . They are control freaks and we have too much legislation that restricts our basic freedoms. The sooner they fade into the sunset the better. |

When are we ever going to get a government that thinks like normal people. There is a lot more to running a country than making insignificant little laws, raising taxes, taking hollidays at public expense, sitting on your backside waiting for a fat pension when everyone else is struggling to make ends meet. Maybe we should be voting every year, and if a gov. does not perform they get kicked out.
It's not just UK Ron. Edited by: Wolf at:31st December 2008 01:49 |

When this s**t for brains government finishes the next s**t for brains government will come in and sing from the same song sheet. I don't know how they have the gall to call themselves labour anyway, they're just conservatives with a red rosette. Watch this space, I'll be more than happy if I'm wrong, but I'm not. As for smoking in the car Pater, it's already illegal...although it's the council that inforce it rather than the police, unless of course you drive erratically whilst smoking. The police of course are far too busy in the warm station sorting out their paperwork. Here's an interesting little footnote for you....traffic wardens are now being given the power to arrest you and enter your homes. Apparently it's because the police will be too busy dealing with all the unrest and rioting that appears to be looming because of the credit crunch. Does that sound absurd and O.T.T? Again, watch this space.

As for traffic wardens entering homes, with some 150 model buses at home, that would give them plenty of scope to put tickets on them for various parking offences! The hallway is a loading zone only; the double yellow line in my living room would catch all of them in there. There's a 30 minute maximum stopping time in the bathroom, the stariway is a Red Route, and they've just introduced congestion charging in kitchens. Over night parking is only allowed in the bedrooms. |
