Andy, your post in particular makes me sick to the stomach, a b....y traffic warden entering our homes? I forecast a riot if that happens, the idea of it an absolute disgrace, and one that only this mob in power currently could come up with!

Vera, you say it all in very few words and I promise not to photograph the 'Sunset over England' when it happens. I would like however, to give them a kick up the backside as they go!!

It probably all started when the government of the day considered there were enough automobiles on the road to warrant government regulation and a bit of taxation with it, which didn't seem to take them very long, introducing a 4 mph maximum speed limit and someone walking in front to warn others of your approach, which came under the Locomotive Act of 1865, which would be applicable to cars too, in time. Fit to drive would be physically fit to drive and you had no impediment that would prevent you from safely operating a mechanically propelled vehicle. That's what I would surmise anyway.

I wasn't aware that smoking in private cars was now also illegal, Andy. As for traffic wardens entering homes, with some 150 model buses at home, that would give them plenty of scope to put tickets on them for various parking offences! Smile  The hallway is a loading zone only;  the double yellow line in my living room would catch all of them in there. There's a 30 minute maximum stopping time in the bathroom, the stariway is a Red Route, and they've just introduced congestion charging in kitchens. Over night parking is only allowed in the bedrooms.

Oh, Paul, LOL!  You do have a way with words.  Laughing

That sounds just like London Paul!  Mind you, your piggy bank would soon be emptied, just as mine is when I go to London. Heaven help me if I stray into a bus lane, it's a £120 fine for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ron, it makes me sick too. Have you noticed they're not called traffic wardens anymore?

So what are they called Andy, apart from the obvious that is? But like Peter said remember this is a family site!! Wonder if we have any 'traffic wardens' as POE members?
