I forecast a riot if that happens, the idea of it an absolute disgrace, and one that only this mob in power currently could come up with! Paul Hilton Posts: 2605 Joined: 21st Nov 2004 Location: UK | quotePosted at 13:52 on 31st December 2008 It probably all started when the government of the day considered there were enough automobiles on the road to warrant government regulation and a bit of taxation with it, which didn't seem to take them very long, introducing a 4 mph maximum speed limit and someone walking in front to warn others of your approach, which came under the Locomotive Act of 1865, which would be applicable to cars too, in time. Fit to drive would be physically fit to drive and you had no impediment that would prevent you from safely operating a mechanically propelled vehicle. That's what I would surmise anyway.
