I feel blessed to have had my cake and eat it too.  I lived in a village, in the semi countryside with a town close enough to enjoy.  I would love to have lived in Scotland though...but no jobs.  I wouldn't mind giving Alaska a go though.

Like Diana, New England is so lovely.  I really miss the covered bridges! (and my sister).

Before settling here, we did give Maine some consideration, but again, NO JOBS to speak of....

As much as I love England and say I wish I could live there, I don't think I'd ever want to really live anywhere except the US.  England is very beautiful, but it's not too shabby here either.  In Arizona, we have what are called "snowbirds."  They are people from western Canada and the frozen midwest who winter here.  I could stand being a snowbird, living in AZ in the winter and maybe in a little farmhouse or cottage in Pennsylvania or upstate New York in summer.  But spending summers in North England or West Ireland would be lovely too.  And as city's go, I absolutely love York.

Since you brought it up, Ron, where would you like to live?

I have found the exact farmhouse where I would like to live. It is in Rhos in Pembrokeshire, Wales and they have now reduced the price by 100K. All I need now is for Terry to win the lottery or me to win the premium bonds! LOL

Hi Ruth, I am very happy here in Oxford but would like to be able to reserve a little piece of Jersey in the Channel Islands. No place like home I suppose!

Well, I live in New England, and have lived in olde England (and it is beautiful), if I had a chouce right now, I'd live where I could sail year round.

If I lived in England, it would have to be on the coast.
