As much as I love England and say I wish I could live there, I don't think I'd ever want to really live anywhere except the US.  England is very beautiful, but it's not too shabby here either.  In Arizona, we have what are called "snowbirds."  They are people from western Canada and the frozen midwest who winter here.  I could stand being a snowbird, living in AZ in the winter and maybe in a little farmhouse or cottage in Pennsylvania or upstate New York in summer.  But spending summers in North England or West Ireland would be lovely too.  And as city's go, I absolutely love York.

Since you brought it up, Ron, where would you like to live?

I love York too Ruth. Maybe we could have adjoining cottages and summer there together! Smile

My mother used to say, "With my luck, when my ship comes in, I'll be at the airport!" LOL!

Yes that's an old saying from my childhood as well.  Maybe we ought to head for the shore!

Hi Ruth, I am very happy here in Oxford but would like to be able to reserve a little piece of Jersey in the Channel Islands. No place like home I suppose!

Yes, Ron, Oxford looks lovely.  And yes, I think most of us here are fortunate enough to say home sweet home.

Most but not all Ruth.

No, I must say I'm getting used to it here, a little (a very little).

Yes, Sue, I can imagine.  It took me about 5 years to get used to "brown and pleasant," coming from Pennsylvania, which is much more like England than Arizona.
