I have just spent a pleasureable afternoon rummaging through all my photo discs looking for pics to put on the website!  It is so brilliant to see everyone's photos and to join in the forum discussions.  I am so glad that my friens recommended this superb and friendly website!  I am just wondering if everyone else looked through all their pics to upload them!  I found loads of England but also many that we took whilst we were in America-wonder if theres a Pictures of America website too LOL

Best wishes to you all from Maz x

Hello Marianne, I am not sure I have welcomed you to the site yet, so welcome!

Unfortunately, I didn't have any pics of my last visit to England to post on the site so I just enjoy everyone else's!  But I am sure you will find that there are other who like you spent a great deal of time pouring over their photos to post on this magnificent site!

I still add pictures to the site that I come across from years back. As long as they scan well, and look good.

Of course, my screen saver is all pictures of England, ones I've taken over the years and ones I've gleaned from here. I have to be surrounded by England every day in order to make it through.

Thanks for the welcome Diana.  Yep it as I suspected-everyone searches through their photo archives-a mixed blessing sometimes.  I came across pics of my cat Jasper who died a few years ago-time for a good cry!!  So do you holiday in England often Sue?  We take our vacations in America-we just love it!

This is ideed a magnificent website!

xx

Oh Marianne! My heart goes out to you regarding your Jasper.  I had to put my cat, Merlin, to sleep last June due to kidney failure and we are coming up on the first year anniversary of his death. I have been feeling rather weepy myself!

Where do you vacation in the States, Marianne?

I go home every year, Marianne. I was born and lived there from my first 34 (somewhere there) years. I yearn to be hack home.

Oh Diana-poor Merlin.  It's so awful when a pet dies eh?  Our Jasper was only a young cat and he was run over on the road.  Do you know, it sounds weird but I am still not over it and think of him a lot.  We have 3 cats now all of whom came from rescue centres-every cat is special and if we could, we'd have a houseful!

When we come to the States, we tour.  We have been to Utah, Colorado, Arizona,Wyoming, Montana, Nevada and California.  We love it all!  Yellowstone is my favourite place in the whole world.  We usually go horseback riding wherever we can-a great way to see wild creatures and beautiful places.  next year, we are starting in San Fransisco and heading north as far as Mount St Helens-cant wait!

Good luck with the 1st anniversary of Merlin's death-I will be thinking of you xx

Ah-so you are British born Sue!  It must be so lovely for you to come back here every year.  Do you think you'll ever come back gere permanently?  And do you know Somerset at all?  That's where we live now but I am originally from Hampshire.

Lovely to hear from you xx

My dream is to 'come home' but it won't happen unless we fall on our feet financially. which I can't see ever happening.

I'm not sure even that my yearly trips will continue, now that my folks have passed on and our house has been sold.

Still, I have been greatly blessed, and will be content with my lot. I will travel home just as often as I can and be grateful for it.

Hi Marianne!!  I'm sorry about your cat. I lost my Ollie just after New Years. I still pine for him.

Have you ever visited the East coast of the US? You should try out New York!!
