I had 2 VW vans in my hippy days, Jason.  One was a '66.  And the first car my dad bought me was a '66 beetle.  The poor guy thought I'd never learn how to drive a standard.  LOL.  Great cars.

I don't suppose you've been able to drive much lately, Sue, what with your foot and all, but I was checking out some photos here and came across this one.  Hope you enjoy it:

My neighbor John Fitzgerald, an banker, use to buy him an new BMW about every other year..since he got his kids out of college he went in for another house and he doesn't live here any longer. I don't think I'll ever forget his son coming over to our house one night in an panic...we never did find out what was going on...he had come home from school, and his parents were foing to be going to school for parent teacher coferences and he picked up thiei houser phone and there was someone on it, an private phone line. He didn't go upstairs, came to our house instead, and got my husband to go home with him. Never did find anyone in the house, but it really scared the wits out of Shaun. Rieilys' that live between us, he's now an car dealer, some of the things he drives home are pretty snazzy looking automobiles. Expensive.

Sue, I just had to tell you that I've had my first up close and personal experience with the Mini Cooper and I am in love with that car! LOL!

A girlfriend of mine bought a Mini Cooper and asked me along for the test drive. Afterwards, while she was filling out her paper work, I sat there and dreamed of owning one of my own. I have it all planned out, right down to the color I want! Of course, I won't be getting one any time soon. But I've got it on my list!

First I want to thank Lorraine for the picture. How on earth did I miss seeing this in August?  I REALLY wanted a Union Jack on my roof, but because I bought second hand (I regret not waiting the four months for a new one) which has a sun roof, I cannot get the flag decal.

And now I have just had my second surgery, Mini is back in the garage for another two months  .

Diana, if you get to drive a Mini, especially the Mini Cooper S, you'll not want to drive anything else. It really is the PERFECT car.

I hope you get your Mini one day Diana.

My Dad used to have a mini back in the 60's, we went all the way to Wales in it, wasn't the most comfortable of cars I must admit.

Okay, I guess I didn't do my home work well enough. What is the difference between the Mini Cooper and the Mini Cooper S, and why did you choose the Mini Cooper S, Sue?

The most noticable thing Diana between the Cooper & S  is the horsepower jump from 120 BHP to 175 BHP.  Also, the UK list price going from £13,680 to £16,780.

There'll be other things I'm sure Sue can fill you in on.
