But it is a stirring song. I can sing and often do for the pensioner groups of the district, I usualy perform songs of Neil Diamond, Roy Orbison and The Eagles. Like Peter Evans I was a member of a rock group in the 60's. I also played guitar, but not well. I am absolutely great at being me. |

Ah those were the days...I remember going to youth clubs in my teens in the 60's and all they had for music were live bands, no records or anything like that. Thinking back all the groups were talented, they could always play and sing the songs you asked them to. I sometimes wonder what happened to some of them. What was your group called Wolf? maybe I'd seen you on stage if you came to my part of the country |
Wolf Posts: 3423 Joined: 9th Jul 2008 Location: Australia | quotePosted at 07:46 on 28th July 2008 The group was called 'The Sandons' Lyn, but we never played down south. Mostly around Birkenhead and the Wirral. Liverpool a few times. Once in Queensferry when The Hollies were to be top billing, but did not show up. Places like all the local youth clubs and dances, The Majestic Ballroom B.Head. The Cave B.Head, The Pepermint Lounge L.Pool. During the 60's there were many good bands, but not many got the breaks that others did. Without skyteing we were good but never famous. If I remember, I will post you a couple of old pics from my group days. Thats if I can find them. |

That was in the 70s, at Kings Cross. Ike moved to Australia not long after, for health reasons. Maybe you heard him out there Wolf. |
