Great thread, Krissy!  I'm like you and Diana and Jason.  I like a little of everything, including jazz and country.  But I don't like modern country, I prefer the old stuff, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, the Carter Family, Patsy Cline.  Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins, etc.  50's is good too, especially Danny and the Juniors.  Sometimes a good way to get a variety is with soundtrack albums.  I love the soundtracks from Cats, from Rainman, from Braveheart and from Valley Girl.  tohhhhhtally!  And Queen and the Travellers of course!!

Diana and Krissy - do your public radio stations carry American Routes?
