Hello all.

Well I had my foot surgery yesterday and now I'm (supposed) to be reclining with my foot elevated for 48 hours as it comes back to life.

They tell me the surgery went well, and now I am the proud owner of a titanium rod and screws, one long incision and a very heavy cast to keep my foot immobile.

I am not able to put my foot the ground for three weeks, and then I will be in a boot for another five weeks and then hopefully I will be able to put on a shoe and DRIVE MY NEW MINI, which is now sat redundant in the garage. In mid October if all goes well, I will then have the other foot done and be in the same predicament until Christmas.

The full recovery period is one year, so just in time for husband and I to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in Ireland next October.

I appreciate all of your well wishes, they have cheered me no end. You're a great bunch and I love you all  .

Hi Sue

I'm glad everything went ok for you.  Does it hurt at all?  You are very brave.

Karen

Right now it is coming back to life, even though the surgery was over 24 hours ago. They tell me the pain is bad, so we shall see. And seeing that I am sat right next to the computer, you shall here all about it  .
