Pa, I could use a dose of that everyday!

Sue, I just watched a video of the surgery online. That is what I had done. They did not put me in a cast. I only had to stay off my foot for two weeks but wear the boot for six. Maybe that is why I still don't have some feeling in that toe.Surprised  The year before that I had broken the sesamoid bone in half under the pad behind your big toe. I had to have that piece removed because it was floating around irritating anything in it's path. That scar is on the side of the foot and has never been quite right.

Like the new avatar Sue! I haven't been brave enough to look at your foot!

The avatar was taken four years and 20 pounds ago  . I changed it when Catherine asked me about being a grandma, as I obviously look old enough in my other avatar picture   .

In this one, you can't see my face very well, so I can fool everyone    (I'll change it back soon).

Oh and Stephanie, my foot is covered from tip toe to knee in a cast, so it's not a gory picture.

Now here we go........the heat is hitting your joint......I am taking your pain away, I can feel it in the palm of my hand.....ah, that's much better eh? (That'll be $10).

Take care, Pa

OK I've been brave enough to have a look with your reassurance! When I was in a cast it got so itchy I permanently had a knitting needle down it! I was cut to shreds when they got it off! The strangest thing that happened is that I had a really good tan when I dislocated my knee (it went round the back - I only sat on the sofa!) and when they eventually took off the cast after 12 weeks (as I said before I fractured it in the cast!) the leg in the cast still had a tan! I also managed to burn my foot. I lived on my own at the time and i was trying to carry a microwave meal with my crutches and I dropped it and it fell all over my foot and up under the cast! I am an accident waiting to happen.

You don't look old in either avatar Sue! It's my sister's 50th next month - she has a 5 year old and a twenty year old! I think these times when we reach a new decade always make us think about age!

Ron, you wouldn't be able to afford malpractice insurance with that fee.

Sue, you look great, I was just teasing. Hope I didn't offend you?

No, Catherine. It takes an awful lot to offend me. Ron has been trying this past year, but he hasn't succeeded yet  .

And that last post of mine was supposed to say THIN and not think. (Obviously I don't type the word thin very much)
