I think if you subject yourself to them and everything goes ok you can start to overcome them.

Interesting Krissy. Hair? Where do you suppose that came from? LOL!

As to getting over fears, as a young girl I was afraid to go into places by myself.  I didn't like being afraid and so one summer when I was about 12, my mother drove my siblings and I to visit our grandparents some 500 miles away. I told my mother before we started the trip that if there was a need to stop and ask for directions or to purchase items etc., that I wanted to be the one to do it by myself.  By the end of that trip I was no longer afraid to go into places by myself.

Of course, I think the hardest part of overcoming any fear is to want to overcome it.

Having said that I have a few that I have yet to conquer:

Spiders

Bugs of ANY kind

Open heights

Spiders

Bake beans!

- those are just the silly ones.

Real fears are something bad happening to my family and getting burgled again.

Yeah Diana i was afraid of going into crowded places etc... but managed to get over that, think some of it is the fear of not been accepted, or doing something dumb like falling over!!! I was a shy kid, but managed to overcome that, still can be a little shy at times though

Diana...that is really brave to do at 12!!  And I hear you about the spiders.  Most I can deal with except Daddy Long Leggers!!  I hate them!!

Jason...good point...facing fears!  And interesting fear...phoning people!  What exactly do you fear about that?

My hair issues.. I have no idea how that happened.  I never liked hair!  Even as a child I would not play with dolls..especially Barbies!!  If I see a stand of hair anywhere I get the heebie jebbies!!

and Jason..ha ha!!  Be nice or I'll make you call someone!!! LOL!!!  That's a recent fear.  I'll also afraid to sleep in silence!! Must have the TV on at night!
