I am of a similar mind to Sue H as regard Artists, Constable and Bodington do it for me.

I trained as an illustrator rather than an artist. I tend to prefer the style of the illustrator. Two of my favourites are Robin Jacques and Eric Fraser. My favourite artist is my eldest son who has great talent. His works adorn our walls!

I know there's a few on here that enjoy art. Anyone got a favorite artist??

I think mine has got to be John Waterhouse at the moment, his painting are fantastic, mostly landscapes, he paints scenes from around Staffordshire, i'd love to photograph the scenes he paints, last night i saw a fantastic sunset, just after heavy rain, and it reminded me of a painting he done, but i never had my camera!!

John Waterhouse is great Jason, of course, I prefer his more romantic paintings and have several of his prints framed.  I am also very fond of Vermeer and have his "The Girl with the Pearl Earring" framed very nicely over my fireplace.  I also like a painting by Dutch artist, Gerrit Dou called "Astronomer by Candlelight", here is a link if you'd like to see what it looks like:

Yes Krissy, I too like John Singer Sargent.  Did you know that he painted a hall of beautiful murals in the Boston Public Library?  They are spectacular and make going to the library a cultural event you don't normally associate with going to a library!  Here is a link if you'd like to see:

I'd probably fall for Boston and Salem too. I also hear it's nice there in the autumn as well. Culture with a splash of colour !
