I have bouts of sciatica when I let my weight get over a certain poundage. Another way my body tells me to get some weight off.

LOL.  Sue!  I'm the one in the middle.  Laughing

Stephanie, I thought my husband and I were the only people in the world who still slept on a waterbed.  We still have the original big water balloon style mattress and all.  But hardly anyone over here have them anymore and it's very difficult to find sheets.  And when you do find them, they cost an arm and a leg.  I had to order the last set online and I wasn't crazy about them when they arrived.  But the bed is great for the back though.  I've been out of town 4 times this month for work and the hotel beds always make my hip hurt.  I love my waterbed.

I love my waterbed too Ruth! I always get backache on holiday. Not many peolpe have them here either - everyone has gone mad on memory foam - I'm keeping my waterbed - it's a three layer one - very comfy. We used to get the sheets from the place we bought it but it's just shut down so I suppose we will be struggling to get them soon as well.

Krissy and Stephanie, I too suffer with sciatica. My last flair up was five years ago and lasted three weeks. I couldn't work or anything the pain was so debilitating!  Here's me knocking on wood that it doesn't visit again in the near future!

I'm touching wood too Diana - haven't had it since i got the waterbed and lost my weight Sue - LOL!!!

I had it first when I was 14 - because my Dad was disabled I used to help Mom carry things. The worst bout was when I was having my middle son and he kept sitting on my sciatic nerve - ouch! I got stuck in the car for half an hour because I couldn't move with the pain.
