Cathy: Not to pry, but is your daughter in therapy? My wife is a counselor and play therapist who specializes in sandtray therapy with children, adolescents and adults. Sandtray therapy involves the use of many types and colors of sand in large flat trays in which clients build worlds of self-healing using a variety of symbolic figures and objects. I know that it sounds strange, but having done my own sandtrays, I can tell you that the results are powerful and profound! Perhaps this might appeal to your daughter if you both were to find a sand tray therapist in your area. Here is the primary website of the Sandtray Network for more information:

http://www.sandtray.org/index.html

You and your daughter are in my thoughts and prayers.
