Smoke most the time kills before the actual fire does...so it's important to do something about it first, They say to keep an fire extinguisher near the kitichen, I say keep one near the door going in an out also....you may not beable to make it to the kitchen. In the case of smoke, shut the closest door..get on your hands and knees, as smoke rises, and crawl out to an widow , if you have to...grab some kind of cloth to put over your nose to help you breath easier...it's real important to do house drills before something should happen, so if you can't see for the smoke, your "instinct" will take over an guide you to safety...you only acquire that by the drills. Once outside make an "meeting" place for the house occupants so you know whose where. I don't know if you people know who Jack Coles is but he monitors ULF waves in California..USGS say that they can predict earthquakes,by their frequency...he just posted last night, very LARGE intial signals for the San Francisco Bay area, get prepared for an huge earthquake soon...if it doesn't happen we can all sit back an laugh about it....quite personally, I've not known him not to be correct, though incoming quakes this morning from across the Pacific see's two large ones... one behind the other...I have no idea if this is what he was picking up perhaps or not. Plus the webbots have some kind of problem coming up Oct 7th at 10:17 UTC time....probably "economic" for the USA also,,,they have been an year now seeing it coming. While they get the information correct, they are still in infancy on learning how to decipher it. It is always an good idea to do like the Bible says and prepare for times unseen and perhaps they won't be as bad as expected...had you not prepared. This week should be an interesting one people. I encourage people to have on hand also at all times "tarps"...we have found out in many cases the insurance compy wants to see the damage before settling claims, and if you have an hole in yoru roof, and it takes them days to get there and it's raining, your damage is much higher...so keep tarps on hand..to cover windows and roofs and at the very last sit under....while you wait for help to arrive. Those garbage bags also, for large containers, they waterproof stuff, including small children, your can haul things in them like blankets and food, and clothing, they can collect water if need be for "boiling". They can be used as wind breaks if need be...ground coverings also.. Put an couple of the boxes in the trunk of you car for emergencies....they take up very littile room....same for "pop top" soup, 'lighters, and energy and/or vitmain drinks or bars....Oh, and on papaerback book...after you read it, it becomes kinding for an fire if needed in emergency situations. I did hear one thing that I wonder about and that is the use of"super glue" for bad cuts...you can't get it into the wound, but you press the cut closed and put an little on it..and it takes care of "stitches" needed...wrap with anything you got, such as tearing off an "hem on your clothing...don't forget the pressure point also, to slow down the flow of blood. Everyone should have an small "bug out" bag with essentials for at least one week, in food, and clothing, and essentials. an ordinary bycycle they claim will carry 250 pounds of supplies if loaded carefully, you have to push the bike though..and not ride it....this was using saddle bag type of loading it from front to rear....preferably the bike has fenders on it also. In the diaster the worldover, if you will take notice the possession they all take.. anyway they can... is an matress to sleep on.
