Maria, Thank you so much for the post card, Northern Italy looks stunning, you will get mine soon I promise, our village post office closed down a few weeks ago so I now have to make a trip into the City to post them, it will be in the post tomorrow.

It's what is called a High Desert, inland, high elevation and mountainous dessert.

We have no Cactus until you get further down in the state, we do have pockets of sand dunes, but most of our dessert is sand and Sage Brush.
