That is what I would call a party pastie, although "the Beast" is quite fitting indeed. Properly made, it contains the juice of key limes (from the Florida Keys where it was first made) rather than ordinary green limes. It is a chilled pie made with sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, key lime juice and grated lime zest in a crushed graham cracker crust and topped with real whipped cream.
