Yes, and they were on Sunday mornings and they were a children's religious program sponsored by the Lutheran church.  And in later years, they became commercial spokesmen for Mountain Dew.

Mister Rogers was after my time and he was a bit strange, but he did a lot of good for kids from what I hear.

i'm trying to think of some of the old British shows - what was the one about the Dept. Store with the lady who's hair was always a different color?

Yes, he plays C-c-c-claaudius, and brilliantly.  If you want a great series with a star studded cast, it's a must.  And the British are so good at this type of show.  I think it's 13 parts.

The British are good at all TV in my opinion! I'd rather watch the BBC over American TV anytime!

Ah, yes...Captain Kangaroo (Bob Keeshan) and Mr. Green Jeans (Hugh (Lumpy) Brannum)...RIP.

Incidentally, Bob Keeshan also played Clarabell the Clown on Howdy Doody.
