I need to change my ways and get my house in tip top order!! It's clean, but not clean enough for me but I have to get organized!!! Anyone have any tips or does anyone want to admit they are a mess like me!! It really upset me today..this class trip issue and I have commited myself to changing my ways!!! |

I love a neat, clean and tidy house, but hate doing the cleaning myself. I tend to toss things into drawers or boxes or closets and then later have to spend hours sorting them out. My two 20-something aged children live with me and are less tidy than I am. Living in squalor doesn't seem to bother them, especially my son. And I resent spending a large portion of my weekend cleaning my house! In contrast, my office at work is very organized and tidy. I can't work unless my projects are all neatly organized on my desk and files on the shelves. My dream is to get my house thoroughly de-cluttered and then be able to hire a cleaning service to come in regularly and keep it clean. As to being organized and remembering things, I'd be lost without the calendar on my cell phone to remind me of appointments or time-sensitive tasks that need doing! |

I decided when Terry was seriously ill not to worry about the house being tidy so I don't bother - until my Mom or Auntie come round! There are more important things in life than dust! However I am organised with the other stuff - have to be because of work - so many deadlines for accounts and tax returns so I have lots of lists which I highlight out when things are done. My tip is a BIG calendar to write on - I keep it by my desk and I write everything on it - work and home appointments, birthdays, things which have to be taken to school - everything! It's better than a diary because it is always there on the wall to see clearly. Then you just have to remember to look at it! |

It's funny..at home I do the same thing..put everything in boxes and baskets then tend to it months later but at work my desk is very organized!!! But with all the papers they send home from school and all the parties, meetings, events and all it's so hard to keep track!! And then cleaning..forget it!! My two girls are messy-jessies and I can't keep up!! and it drives me mad!!! Just ask the poor soul who has to listen to me moan about it all the time!!

And I guess I worry too much about what other people think...people are always popping over and I'm embarrased by the sea of tiny toys all over the floor!!!! I need to loosen up a bit!!

I was fighting a losing battle though - a house full of untidy males - 5 of them (if I include Martin who is the messiest!). One of my clients who is a wonderful man said to me once "You will have plenty of time to be tidy when they have left home" and it got me thinking about how empty it would look without the toys. Also it is good for them to have there toys out - brightens their minds - that's my excuse! |

The other issue too is the darn TV..it needs to be shut off!! Erin is reading now and its nice outside now and Sponge Bob won't help me clean the house!! LOL! |
