What are your favourite childhood memories?

Mine are  -

flying a kite with my Dad at Brean Down (before he was disabled). I must have been about 9.

seeing the Queen at Dudley in the Jubilee year of 1977 and having my picture in the paper waving a flag!

going to Marazion to see my Dad's friend who moved there in the 70's and they gave me some napkins with Cornish words on them!

taking a sheep in the caravan on holiday - I was really popular!

 As my memory is so bad these threads are great exercise for my brain!

Laying in the grass during the summer when I was four years old. I can remember how the air felt hot and the grass felt cool and the sound of the wind. Just laying there staring into the sky and feeling perfectly at ease. I remember wearing my orange tank top and shorts to match.

Swimming at Echo Lake, diving off the diving board and swimming to the raft with the big kids and them not letting me on!!!

Going to equestrain camp and spending three months working, riding and having a blast with a bunch of great friends!! 

Walking with my mum and the dog down the lane. Seeing the primroses, but never picking them.

Spring in Bluebell Wood, a carpet of bluebells.

The village fare in the school yard. Swinging on the swings back and forth, back and forth.

Bell Lane school, the toilets outside with the long chain and spiders. Oh, and cold, cold, cold in winter.

I remember my dad tickling us and being surrounded by laughter.

My dad was hose crazy! He loved to surprise attack us with the hose on hot summer days! He could shoot the hose over the house and know exactly where we were and get us wet!!. He loved throwing everybody in the pool. Was only a little 15' wide by about 15" high. My sister would have temper tantrums. One time he threw her in with her bathrobe and big pink fuzzy slippers when she had a tantrum. He thought that would cool her off!! He would even squirt the hose in the kitchen window to get you!

Camping trips where dad would lead us on long hikes to a beautiful waterfall. The bears at the campsites!! Pouring rain and cooking inside the tent.

My mom teaching me all sorts of homemaking skills. Like sewing, canning, cooking, baking, etc. 

Being outdoors with my brother in the summer and holding our arms out to our sides and twirling until we got dizzy and fell down laughing!

And riding my bike endlessly! I could go in a straight line while pedaling and no hands on the handle bars. You couldn't get me of my bike. 

Playing badminton as a family in the garden and using the flower bed as a net. We had a lawn then a nice little flower bed, then the driveway, it was just perfect.

The smell of fresh picked raspberries. My dad was a first class vegetable gardener, and we had fresh everything. My mum was a good country flower gardener, we had roses galore, but my favourite flowers are still Chrysanthemums.

Talking about Chrysanthemums, another memory is the musty church smell transformed to the smell of autumn at Harvest Festival.
