They took us up in this thing that once it reached the top would slowly rotate so that you could see for miles and miles in any direction. When we reached the top the solid walls begin to move back and there I was pressed right up against the glass. There was no railing and no barrier of any kind, just glass. I wasn't expecting it and the feeling was a combination of the fear of heights and the fear of falling. I couldn't breath and I nearly fainted! Fortunately the people around me took me to the center of the ride where it was solid and let me sit down to collect myself. I felt foolish afterwards, but that was one of the scariest experiences of my life. |

Well several, but one that stays in my mind was when I found out I suffered from Vertigo the hard way! As a policeman, I was called to theft of lead from a stately home. A biulder called me up to inspect the roof. I climbed up, took one look over the ledge, then froze. I could not move, and had to be helped back down to the ground again! |

This one time the plane was swinging from side to side, it was also coming in very fast. As we passed the Hilton Hotel, my sons told me to look (I had my eyes closed in ferverent prayer), I opened my eyes and could see right into the windows of the hotel, we were that close. Then as we reached the run way, the plane veered to the left and the wing tip was a hairs breadth from the tarmac, the pilot pulled up the nose and we went straight up into the air. When we finally landed, my legs shook for a good two hours, and my guts were in such knots I couldn't eat.
