The 1st time we were in Mousehole and he was walking on the opposite side of the lane and I told him to stay on the same side as us. At that moment a car came really fast down the lane and he was in the middle of the road - Terry jumped in front of the car and pulled him from under the wheels and fell back on the the ground. The car never stopped. I could do nothing as I was walking with Aaron who was a toddler. The second time he was running ahead of me and a postvan came up a side street really fast - I shouted for him to stop and he slowed enough to just hit the side of the van. Oh and when Aaron had the brain scan - I was really scared then too. And when Terry had the massive asthma attack. The list goes on .....!!! |

We had gotten there to find out her parents would be gone that evening at an party held by her boss..an costume party. It looked funny to see little "Bo Peep" with an cigarette hanging out of her mouth...giving her daughter the phone number of where she'd be with an "You better not call if you know what's good for you!"...they left, and my girlfriend had told us that she broke up with her boyfriend and he threatened to kill her..and it left her an bit un-nerved but she was glad it was all over. Her parents house was three story, with bedrooms on top, main floor, and basement down below, and an garage which could be acessed from outside or in the basement. We had the dog there also. We had finsihed making the cup-cakes and they were left to cool, we locked the back kitchen door and the front door and went upstairs into her bedroom to get some decorations she had..when we heard the dog barking. We went out to see what was going on and it was as if the dog was barking at someone in the house. It refused to go downstairs. Growled. We talked an bit about what to do, she was just sure it was most likely her old boyfriend. She was to scared to call her parents to come home for fear what they would do if it turned out to be no one there. Well, we decided instead to shout out, whose there, we are calling the police...and an whole bunch of other things..threw stuff downstiars from the bathroom...yelled, get out of here...finally went downstairs ever so cautiously..dog in front of us. We went to the kitchen first, and there stood the door I know I had just locked..wide open to the outside. My hair just stood on edge. We closed the door and went from room to room, and checked all the doors upstairs an downstairs for being locked and nothing behind them. About when we thought her parents would be coming home, my sister and I finally left and drove home ourselves, stopping the entire way from time to time to make sure she answered her phone,(cells weren't heard of as yet) ..or it was agreed an authomatic police call. she answered, but the thought of having someone in that house with us for who knows how long is an very unsettling expereince. |

Sounds like a small thing to get scared about but boy, was it horrible! You know how onions are made up of layers? Well I popped the pickle into my mouth and the middle layers shot straight down my throat! I honestly thought I was going to die because I couldn't breathe or swallow. Eventually, I managed to gulp it down but fely panicky and weak for ages afterwards. Still brings me out in a sweat even now! On a lighter note, my 16 yr old grand daughter persuaded me to go on a roller coaster! That for me was terrifying-what seemed like hours being spun round, turned upside down etc etc! And all she could do was laugh at me bless her LOL!! |
