Maybe Cathy's doctor will sit her down and have an "heart to heart" talk with her like mine did with me, in telling me that I come first now, it has to be an priorty this time around,  I'm working at it, slowly..and it just drives me crazy with all this dirt and mess in my house....It's not the REAL me if you understand, I mean my "virgo" perfectionist inside me just grinds away at all the disorganization in my mind. I flunked my first "stress" test. I was laying there and in walked this woman that I felt like I had known from the past, my old boss..Mae Farber. They laid her on an gurney and she looked like she was dead by the time I left. She gave me that feeling as if she were saying, "I came to help you out a bit Shirley".

Cathy,...... maybe you might be better off in England ....if all this keeps up. It's time to move on perhaps? Whatever is the better for yourself.

I need prayers for my friend, Joan. Although I am an athiest, she is RC. So, if there is a God, I hope he helps one of his flock.

Cutting a long story short, she has found out what is wrong with her. It's taken the hospital a year to figure it out. She has something wrong with her spine; the nerves are gradually 'dying' and one day soon, she will find herself in a wheelchair. The doctors have told her to give up work. My loud, mad, full of life friend, who has danced the night away with me, who has helped me through a few rough patches, who laughs even when the going gets tough is today withdrawn, quiet and fearfull.

I am going to struggle to take this in.  Cry

We believe in the power of prayer Babs, so already Joan is on our list! Make sure she knows, because I also happen to believe it will help.

Thanks Ron and Krissy. I'm so sad. She told me I am not to pity her, I am to treat her as I have always done. But I just want to whisk her off and wrap her in cotton wool. I want to keep her safe. I want to always see her laughing and dancing and acting silly. Just as she has always done in the 8 years I have known her.

I really do have to stop moaning about stupid stuff and learn to value my life more. It's all about perspective isn't it?

Babs, you've got to do as she tells you, or she may get even more down on herself. If her condition is irreversible, you've got to accept, and move ahead. inside she is still you fun loving, full of life, dancing, acting silly Joan.

You know, it's surprising what people can get up to in a wheelchair. If they can play basketball, I bet they can dance too.

Chin up friend, for yourself and for Joan.

Babs, I am so sorry to hear about Joan. Prayers speeding their way on her behalf. And for you too. You are an amazing friend. She is so lucky to have you! Whatever you do, don't pity her. There is a reason this is happening. You must look for the good in everything bad. It is there, just hard to find sometimes.

Hmmmmm, me thinks I should listen to myself more often!!!!! lol Embarassed
