I think probably the most desirable thing about boating the English canals, apart from the scenery and wildlife, is the pace. Our lakes are great, but often you can't hear the person next to you if you're on the shore and one of those obnoxious speed boats goes by.

I use to have an cousin of my mother's that was married to the Police chief of Maimi many years ago, then she moved to North Calorlina and got wiped out by Hurricane Hugo, so they moved back to Florida, I met her here at PDX one time because her son was teaching at Oregon State, an professor in the humanities.... and had just lost his wife, leaving him with two young kids, and then we wrote for an while, and she called me when another cousin, that I was rather close to after my mother died passed away died under suspicious circumstances, She said they were going back down there to look up some old firends in the dept over Pat. I lost contact with her after that...or at least never heard of the aftermath on it all. They were up in years also. Not sure where David is at, I heard he remarried and had an different position though out of state. As to vacationing, many times, I've been to Disneyland four times so far. but my sister's best friend, her parents moved to St. Petersburg, and my "ex" step-mother had relatives living there also...I guess that's what you could call her, I have not seen her in an long time either...she kind of went her own way after my dad passed on. I don't get around much these days. The health problems have made me pay attention to my own back yard so as to say. |

Pretty picture Jason, do they have like those "Houseboats" that you can float calmly along and live in for an week like they do over here. either way looks like an good peaceful time of relaxing. Or do you go from town to town at your own leasure. Looks very enjoyable. |
