No electronics for us (well, we had black & white telly but only 3 channels). We played all sorts of ball games, hide & seek, swinging statues, red rover, cowboys & indians, Chinese jumprope as well as the traditional kind, rollerskating, riding bikes. When it rained, we had board games like Monopoly, Chinese checkers, dominoes, Twister, card games (Go Fish, spades, old Maid), dolls, etc. When we visited my grandparents in the country, my brother would take his cars and trucks and we would find a patch of dirt, use a garden hoe to make roads and build a town out of wood and rocks and drive the cars and trucks around the town. Ah, those were the days! |
