When I was a kid, we did nothing but play outside!  No electronics for us (well, we had black & white telly but only 3 channels).  We played all sorts of ball games, hide & seek, swinging statues, red rover, cowboys & indians, Chinese jumprope as well as the traditional kind, rollerskating, riding bikes.  When it rained, we had board games like Monopoly, Chinese checkers, dominoes, Twister, card games (Go Fish, spades, old Maid), dolls, etc.  When we visited my grandparents in the country, my brother would take his cars and trucks and we would find a patch of dirt, use a garden hoe to make roads and build a town out of wood and rocks and drive the cars and trucks around the town.  Ah, those were the days!

Climbing trees. Playing cowboys and indians. Spin tops, the wooden ones with a whip and string. Marbles. Hide and seek. Boy, the list could go on forever. We were very rarely bored as kids.
You are so right Peter. I remember running and playing out side; our imagination was our best toy. Today kids don't know what to do with themselves if they don't have a TV, computer, or some other electronic gadget. It's terribly sad.
The best game though was hiding from Mum when she called you in for bed. He he he.
You just hide from the wife now, eh Peter? Wink

You can buy them now already made?  Wow.  We used to just buy a length of elastic of a certain width and tie the ends together to make our own.
