Too bad she didn't hit you (without personal injury to you)...you could have a new car on her! I was behind a woman on the way to work the other day and she was weaving all over the road and I could see clearly that she was trying to put on makeup while driving. I was so angry I wanted her to hit someone (again without causing personal injury to the other driver) so that I could be a witness and see her sorry butt thrown in jail! I just had an idea...maybe I'll start taking down the license numbers of the vehicles in question and then pull over and call the local radio station and ask them to make a public service announcement that a dangerous driver driving a (make and model) with a license plate number of ____, is currently endangering the life of other drivers by putting on her make up (using cell phone etc) while driving down (road name).

I've had to use my cell phone an couple of times to call 911...in having problems...such as my sister having car problems and it took the police and I both talking to each other to locate her. But my hubby and son there are times the only way we could get ahold of them is by cell phone. My son's an trucker, my hubby does many scout activities, like picking up Christmas trees by cell phone for companies/apt.complexes after the Holidays. I generally can't get through to my daughter in-law where she works now..because some guy showed up there that was an "ex" and picked an fight with her, the lady tried to run over him with an company vehicle. My hubby made up an code for her though to call home when she can from her cell phone, most the time it involves picking up on one of the kids at school. after the dude walked in an picked up an first grader saying he'd been sent by her mother to pick her up from work, then took her out an brutally raped her,..the schools are super security now...they wanna know direct from the parents before releasing any kids...last time I was there, I had to show my Identification. They do an call back now also after the kid leaves.....to see to it they are where they say they are..at home ussually. |

I think ppl should grow up and realize you can not look down and text while driving,,Dumba**!! Even when you have to talk on the phone i find myself thinking gosh did i stop at that stop sign and barely know how i drove home thats why i try not to even answer it unless its my family because it is usaullly quick..There have been so many accidents around here from cell phones makes me sick! A friend of mine ,, her friend and 4 yr old daughter was killed from someone texting but the girl that caused this was fine.. When patients come into my office on there cell phones i just keep talking to them and if they continue to stay on the phone i will skip them and go to the next person,,one lady had the nerve to ask me to wait a moment she was in the middle of a conversation so SKIP!!!!! I just think it is RUDE! We have even had pts pick up there cell phones in the room while the doctor is in there talking to them even though we have a sign TURN OF CELL PHONES PAST THIS POINT. OK, i will stop sorry;-) |

Then I can get back to them when I am safely parked up. Michael, that advert is good, but who takes any notice? I walked up to the shops yesterday and nearly got run over by a man talking on his phone while driving. He had his phone in his right hand while turning right. I was halfway accross the road and he didnt see me. He couldnt change gears because his left hand was on the wheel. He let go of the steering wheel to change gear and nearly mounted the pavement. That was probable what saved me. He missed me by a foot. I say take away thier driving licence permanently if caught. Edited by: Peter Evans at:2nd July 2009 13:38 |

While driving home from the grocery store one day I was slowing down to make a right hand turn when a woman (Why is it always women? ) in an SUV with a cell phone in her ear and a toddler strapped to a car seat in the back cut me off by making a right hand turn from the left hand turning lane!!! Then she had the nerve to to take her one hand off the steering wheel long enough to give me the third finger as if I had done something wrong! Fortunately, I had been driving slower in preparation for my turn otherwise I would have plowed right in to her car and guess which side I would have hit? You guessed it, the passenger side where the toddler sat! Peter, what a great idea to have an alternative message for when you're driving! I love it! |
